Missouri Conference

Electrical Overcurrent Protection (Day 1 of 2)

Two Day (see no. 6) 8:30 am - 5:30 pm $500.00
Wed, 13 Oct 10

This tutorial is intended to improve the skills of the designer of industrial and commercial power distribution systems to maximize performance and safety (compliance to the NEC), while minimizing the cost and down time. A simple approach to electrical overcurrent protection of low voltage (600V) power systems will be presented. The tutorial will include interrupting capacity, component protection and selective coordination of fuses and circuit breakers. Newer innovations, such as Type "2" protection of NEMA and IEC motor starters will be covered, as well as long standing controversies, such as single phasing. Dramatic films of actual test will demonstrate the topics covered. Application manuals will be provided and practical problems will be worked by the attendees with close instructor supervision. In today's business climate, time is at a premium. So the course is focused on saving the designer's time while still producing a safe and properly functioning electrical system.
